priorities

Randy told me about the meeting and priorities came up. I've struggled with my priorities for a long time. I was even hesitant to join IHo Chuan because I knew that the once a month meetings were going to be very difficult to attend. They all happen while I'm sleeping during the day. Now this really bothered me. It's one of the mandatory requirements that I knew would be very hard for me to attend. Mostly because I have to work that same night. Yet I still chose to join knowing this would be a miss. So I have endeavored to blog as much as possible to keep myself mindful of my kung fu. As I have stated before I don't care for blogging at all. So this is still a struggle to maintain.  I think I'm doing pretty good so far. I came into this knowing I couldn't make the monthly meetings and I am trying to stay engaged with as many people as I can.So I have come to accept that my sleep for work is a good priority for me. I try to attend as often as I can throughout the week in the evenings so yeah I think I can live with the compromises I have to make to be on this team.
I had chinese take out for supper and lunch, rice noodles, beef, chicken, veggies, chocolate fondue for dessert. had an orange and pretzel for snack at work.
Did dishes, took out garbage, made the bed,

  1. We all have priorities in life and this is what dictates how we approach anything we do. There is a risk of getting into a program and then picking and choosing what you will do and what you will not do. Definitely you might miss a class or forget to blog once, or only get 49,000 push-ups in the year. But how you approach it and how high it is in your priority list is what is going to determine the level of engagement and success.

  2. I know what you mean about the blogging, When It was first introduced to the Kwoon I felt the same way. But then I realized that the blogging is one of the best tools we have to influence our students and define what Kung Fu is now and will be in the future. To me saying that you don't care about blogging is just like saying you don't care what happens to the future of Kung-Fu itself. Don't loose your opportunity to influence Kung-Fu and you voice. People care about what you have to say.

  3. I think that you have your priorities in order, as long as you are content and can move towards mastery consistently, you got this! I'm sorry that you can't make the meetings, we will endeavor to bring as much information as we can through posting on our thread.
